About our Sedum Roof

What it is

Our living roof uses a sedum carpet - a pre-grown mat of hardy, drought-tolerant succulents. It arrives as a roll on a flat pallet, ready to lay on top of your bin store for instant greenery and seasonal colour.

What’s included

Each delivery contains everything needed for a healthy, lightweight green roof:

Waterproof membrane - protects the timber roof deck.

Protective fleece - cushions the membrane and aids drainage.

Growing substrate - a shallow, free-draining medium formulated for sedum.

Sedum carpet (roll) - pre-grown mixed sedum species for quick, even coverage.

How delivery works

Separate delivery, by appointment: After your bin store arrives, we’ll email a link to choose your sedum delivery window so the plants reach you fresh when you're ready.

Supplied on a flat pallet; the roll can be lifted by two people.

Please plan to install within 24-48 hours of delivery for best results.

Looking after your sedum

Watering

Week 1-2 (establishment): Water every few days so the mat and substrate are evenly moist.

After establishment: Minimal watering required. In heatwaves or prolonged drought, water weekly.

Check for waterlogging - good drainage is key.

Feeding

Once each spring: Light application of a low-nitrogen slow-release fertiliser formulated for sedum/green roofs.

Weeds & tidy-up

Quarterly check: Remove wind-blown weeds or grass.

After flowering, you may lightly trim spent flower stems to keep a neat carpet.

Seasonal changes

Sedum colours shift through the year - greens in spring, flowers in summer, warmer tones in autumn, tighter rosettes in winter. This is normal and part of the charm.
