2-Bin Wooden Store with Living Sedum Roof

All unpainted exterior wood will grey over time. We supply timber untreated for a natural look. Expect gentle silvering outdoors. You can apply an exterior oil or varnish if you prefer to maintain colour. Brush off debris and keep the base area clear so air can circulate.

Most customers assemble in about 4 hours with two adults and basic tools (drill/driver, level, tape, gloves). The sections are heavy, so take care when lifting and moving. Kits are clearly labelled with step-by-step instructions.  When the sedum roof arrives, it'll take approximately 1 hour to install.

You’ll receive sedum carpet (roll), waterproof membrane, protective fleece, and growing substrate.  Install it as promptly as possible, water in, and keep lightly watered in dry spells. Remove weeds/debris occasionally; optional light feed in spring.

Our unit holds three standard-sized UK wheelie bins. Approx external size: W 205 cm × D 85 cm × H 130 cm. If you choose doors, allow door swing and a little standing room in front. Measure the narrowest access point on the way to the install spot.

For most homes, a freestanding garden/bin store at ~1.3 m height doesn’t typically require planning. Local rules vary, so if in doubt please check your council guidance, especially if you’re in a conservation area or tight frontage.

You'll need a level, prepared base before assembly (e.g. paving, concrete, firm gravel, or timber footings). No groundwork is included. Clear access is needed; redelivery may be charged if access isn't viable.

Our rainscreen slat layout is designed for natural ventilation - helping bins stay drier and reducing odours. Keep lids closing freely and don’t overfill bins.
